With decades of experience, Bart has trained and certified instructors across the globe—many of whom have gone on to open kite schools in destinations like South America, Canada, the USA, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

As the founder of California’s only IKO PRO Kite Center and the host of the region’s first IKO instructor training, Bart has set the standard for kiteboarding excellence. Whether you’re new to the sport or looking to improve your technique, Bart’s personalized instruction will help you progress faster and safer.

Locally, Bart is a trusted trainer for SCKA Safety Clinics and an advisor to Orange County and Long Beachlifeguards. He’s also the co-founder of the Belmont Shore Kite Expo, a guide for exciting downwinder adventures, and a familiar face on the Weather Channel’s kitesurfing program. Bart specializes in teaching from a watercraft, ensuring you get the most out of your lesson, no matter your skill level.

    ntroduction to Kitesurfing: Experience the magic of kitesurfing with our 90-minute introductory course, held barefoot on the beach. This safe and fun lesson starts with small, manageable kites and progresses to larger ones as you advance. You'll learn key skills such as launching, landing, kite setup, safety systems, and understanding the wind window, while building muscle memory through walking, running, spinning, and other engaging challenges. Open to ages 9 to 99, this class is perfect for anyone eager to start kitesurfing. If you’re having a great time and want to continue, you can extend your session for an additional 90 minutes at $100 per person to move on to the next level and earn your IKO Level 1 Kiteboarder Certification on the same day.     Ready to advance from your 90-minute Intro Course? Sign up here to complete your Level 1 Kiter Certification and prepare for the Intermediate Waterstart Course. In this course, you'll master the art of flying larger inflatable kites. You'll gain skills in handling different wind conditions, self-landing, self-rescue, simulated waterstarts, kite trimming, and body dragging. Learn how to manage the kite while carrying the board, select the correct kite size, adjust line lengths, and prevent common errors like backstalling and overflying the wind window. Perfect your kite control and get ready for your water lesson! Full Gear Rental Included!

  • Beginning Lesson - 3 Hours

    Beginner Kitesurfing Lesson: Dive into the world of kitesurfing with our beginner lesson, where you'll master the art of flying kites of all types and sizes, including large inflatables. No special athletic skills or strength are required—just enthusiasm! Our beginner lessons are available daily on the beach, offering an engaging and fun introduction to kitesurfing. You'll earn your Level 1 Kiteboarding certification and be well-prepared for the intermediate water course. Each session accommodates a maximum of 2 students per instructor, ensuring personalized attention. The cost is $200 per person. You don't need to bring a partner; we'll pair you with another student or provide a 2-hour private session if necessary. For those under 18, over 60, under 120 lbs, or over 220 lbs, we recommend booking a VIP private lesson for optimal attention and comfort. Your instructor can capture this unforgettable experience with photos or videos. Full Gear Rental Included!

  • Getting on Board / Water Start Semi-Private Lesson

    Take your kitesurfing skills to the next level with our Water-Start lesson, which combines kite control with board riding. Available daily, this 3-hour course is designed for those who are proficient with kite control but need assistance getting on the board and riding. At $200 per person, you'll work with one instructor and up to 2 students. If you don't have a partner, we'll try to pair you with another student; otherwise, your session will become a 2-hour private lesson. For those under 18, over 60, under 120 lbs, or over 220 lbs, we recommend a 3-hour private lesson for personalized instruction. Learn to handle various scenarios with your instructor's guidance and earn your IKO Level 2 Intermediate Kiteboarder Certification upon successful completion. After the course, you can opt for a supervised kite rental, additional lessons, or practice at our local spot in Belmont Shore.
